Save Your Money, Buy a Dupe

I love buying makeup but I hate spending money, so I love dupes! Here is a great list of eye liners and eye shadow pallets by one of my favorite YouTubers, Emily. She's so entertaining. Bonus video, colab with Melissa.

I saw this in a vlog by ShadesOfKassie. What a great organizer. I don't know if it fits more than Mac but I assume it will fit anything that's round. (If you can't see it, you're blocking ads.)

Ground turkey in a Cuban sofrito with Twisted Iced Tea

I made a dish for lunch and dinner tomorrow. I took a recipe for a Cuban sofrito and added ground turkey to it. I originally had the sofrito in a quesadilla and really enjoyed the flavor. Sofrito is saute green peppers and onions with garlic, cumin, oregano and white wine vinegar. It is the vinegar that really gives the flavor character. I added in ground turkey for a protein and grated carrot for more fiber, color and taste. The sofrito recipe is from The Fresh 20 for Feburary 1 in the Classic plan. I also had a Twisted Tea by Samuel Adams in Sun Tea flavor. It was good. I could taste the difference between a regular iced tea brew and the sun tea.

How to get fuller lips

One of my favorite makeup artists on YouTube is Lisa Eldridge. She has been in the makeup industry for over 20 years and does magazine cover shoots for magazines like Vogue and Elle. She is a real expert. She's just posted a video about how to make your lips look bigger.

I love this because I have a much smaller bottom lip. I struggle with symmetry and lipstick transfer.

She starts with buffing a moisturizer on lips with a cotton swab. Using a rolling motion, she exfoliates and she pushes the moisture in. Dry lips flake and show lines.

Using L'Oreal - Infaillible Lip Liner - Always Toasted 708, she buffs in the color using circular motions. I think that this is key because it creates a softer line. It also helps to get the color into the skin and all over the lips in thin layers. Leaving a layer of pencil helps keep the lipstick last longer.

She also creates a red lip with similar techniques. She uses a matte lipstick to prevent seeing the lines from glossy reflections. She also suggests putting a thin layer of color on first to use as a guide. And using a lighter color as a brightener in the center of the lower lip to make it look fuller, instead of a gloss.
